DATE: October 29th, 2011—Wrestling Starts at 9:00am SHARP!!

SITE: Cedar Falls, Iowa - University of Northern Iowa - UNI Dome

ELIGIBILITY: Grade School (1st - 6th Grade), Middle School (7th, 8th grade) and High School (9th - 12th Grade) wrestlers ONLY.  

CUT-OFF: We can only accept the first 1500 wrestlers (Combination of Grade School, Middle School and High School Wrestlers) 


RULES: Modified National Federation Rules—Folkstyle   Due to time constraints, we will NOT be using the "new" overtime rules implemented for High Schools in the 2006-07 season. Any matches that go into overtime will use the "old" rules: 1 minute sudden death overtime, if no score, followed by tiebreaker ride out (first to score in regulation gets choice)

MATCH LENGTH:  High School Division 2 - 1 - 1 on Championship side and medal matches.  Consolation matches will be  1 - 1 - 1

Grade School and Middle School Division 1 1/2 -1-1 on Championship side and medal matches.  Consolation matches will be  1 - 1 - 1

Mouthguard: Mouthguards are NOT mandatory (this includes individuals with braces).

Rest Time: The minimum rest time between matches is 15 minutes.

 

HEADGEAR: Headgear IS required.

AWARDS:  Attractive Awards will be handed out.

                 High School - 1st - 8th Place

                 Middle School - 1st - 6th Place

                 Grade School - 1st - 6th Place

FORMAT: Double Elimination –  will wrestle to top 8 in the High School division and to top 6 in Middle School and Grade School. Referees decision final.

WALK– INS: Registration has sold out…. There will be NO walk-ins.

CHANGING WEIGHT CLASSES:  You may change weight classes up until October 25th at Midnight.   If you change weight classes after the October 25th, deadline there will be a $20.00 fee.  Please make sure when you register, that you list your wrestler in the right weight class.  For example, If you register your wrestler in the 100 pound weight class, he/she cannot weigh anymore than 100.0.  If he/she weighs 100.1, he/she is overweight.  If you have any questions, please E-mail me before you register.

USA Wrestling Card: All Wrestlers MUST have a USA Wrestling Card.  You must purchase your USA Wrestling Card before the October 29th tournament.  You CANNOT purchase your USA Wrestling Card at the event.

COACHES: Only two coaches allowed per wrestler during the match. Coach must have a coaching band to be in the coaching chairs in his/her wrestlers corner.  An official will issue a warning to any coach who is out of line or who acts inappropriate. The band will then be black marked. Any further inappropriate action will cause for removal of band and coaching privileges for the remainder of the tournament.
