DATE: October 30th, 2010—Wrestling Starts at 9:00am SHARP!!

SITE: Cedar Falls, Iowa - University of Northern Iowa - UNI Dome

ELIGIBILITY: Grade School (1st - 6th Grade), Middle School (7th, 8th grade) and High School (9th - 12th Grade) wrestlers ONLY.  

CUT-OFF: We can only accept the first 1500 wrestlers (Combination of Grade School, Middle School and High School Wrestlers) 


RULES: Modified National Federation Rules—Folkstyle   Due to time constraints, we will NOT be using the "new" overtime rules implemented for High Schools in the 2006-07 season. Any matches that go into overtime will use the "old" rules: 1 minute sudden death overtime, if no score, followed by tiebreaker ride out (first to score in regulation gets choice)

MATCH LENGTH:  High School Division 2 - 1 - 1 on Championship side and medal matches.  Consolation matches will be  1 - 1 - 1

Grade School and Middle School Division 1-1-1 on Championship side and medal matches.  Consolation matches will be  1 - 1 - 1

Mouthguard: Mouthguards are NOT mandatory (this includes individuals with braces).

Rest Time: The minimum rest time between matches is 15 minutes.

 

HEADGEAR: Headgear is not required but recommended.

AWARDS:  Attractive Awards will be handed out.

                 Grade School - 1st - 6th Place

FORMAT: Double Elimination –  will wrestle to top 8 in each weight bracket. Referees decision final.

REGISTRATION OPENS: Wednesday, September 1st - 5:00pm EST

REGISTRATION CLOSES: Tuesday, October 26th - Midnight

WALK– INS: Walk-ins will be permitted (if the tournament has not sold out) at the Weigh-ins on Friday October 30th.  No Walk-ins on Saturday of tournament.  Cost for Walk-ins is $60.00.

REGISTRATION FEE: $44.00 to be paid online when you register..   No refunds!! (Price increased $5.00 from last year because of the UNI Dome increasing their building rental fee 22% from last year.)

USA Wrestling Card: All Wrestlers MUST have a USA Wrestling Card.  You will be able to purchase cards online and at weigh-ins.

High School Weight Classes: (9th - 10th - 11th - 12th Grade)                        (no allowance!): 103, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, 215, 285

Middle School Weight Classes: (7th & 8th Grade)                                   (no allowance!): 70, 77, 84, 91, 98, 105, 112, 120, 128, 136, 144, 152, 160, 190, 210, 265

Grade School Division THREE Weight Classes (5th & 6th Grade)                  (no allowance!):  60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 112, 120,130, 140, HWT

Grade School Division TWO Weight Classes (3rd & 4th Grade)                  (no allowance!):  50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 103, 112, 120,130, HWT

Grade School Division ONE Weight Classes (1st & 2nd Grade)                  (no allowance!):  40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 90, HWT

COACHES: Only two coaches allowed per wrestler during the match. Coach must have a coaching band to be in the coaching chairs in his/her wrestlers corner.  An official will issue a warning to any coach who is out of line or who acts inappropriate. The band will then be black marked. Any further inappropriate action will cause for removal of band and coaching privileges for the remainder of the tournament.

VIDEO TAPING: Videotaping is allowed only from the coaching chair, bleachers or designated video area. If from the coaching chair they must have a coaching band and are considered as one of the two coaches allowed in their wrestlers corner.
