DATE: High School Boys = November 2nd, 2013 - 9:00am (Will Finish in one day)

          8th Grade and Below = November 3rd, 2013 - 9:00am (Will finish in one day)

          High School Girls = November 3rd, 2013 - 9:00am (Will Finish in one day)

SITE: Cedar Falls, Iowa - University of Northern Iowa - UNI Dome

ELIGIBILITY: Grade School (1st - 6th Grade), Middle School (7th, 8th grade) and High School (9th - 12th Grade) wrestlers ONLY.  

CUT-OFF: We can only accept the first 1500 High School Boys, first 1500 8th grade and below and first 200 High School Girls.

RULES: Modified National Federation Rules—Folkstyle   Due to time constraints, we will NOT be using the "new" overtime rules implemented for High Schools in the 2006-07 season. Any matches that go into overtime will use the "old" rules: 1 minute sudden death overtime, if no score, followed by tiebreaker ride out (first to score in regulation gets choice)

NEW FOR 2013: We have divided the High School division into Freshman / Sophomore and Junior / Senior Divisions.  If you are a freshman or sophomore you may wrestle in the Junior / Senior division but CANNOT wrestle in both.

MATCH LENGTH:  High School Division (boys & girls) 2 - 1 - 1 on Championship side and medal matches.  Consolation matches will be  1 - 1 - 1

Grade School and Middle School Division 1 1/2 -1-1 on Championship side and medal matches.  Consolation matches will be  1 - 1 - 1

Mouthguard: Mouthguards are NOT mandatory (this includes individuals with braces).

Rest Time: The minimum rest time between matches is 15 minutes.

 

HEADGEAR: Headgear IS required.

AWARDS:  Attractive Awards will be handed out.

                 High School Boys - 1st - 8th Place

                 High School Girls = 1st - 3rd Place

                 8th grade and below - 1st - 6th Place

FORMAT: Double Elimination –  will wrestle to top 8 in the High School division and to top 6 in 8th grade and below and High School Girls.  Referees decision final.

REGISTRATION OPENS: August 1st at 5:00pm EST

REGISTRATION CLOSES: October 27th at Midnight EST

REGISTRATION FEE:  $48.00 To be paid online when you register.

WALK– INS: If a Wrestler does not register before the October 27th deadline, he may walk-in at weigh-ins. The cost for Walk-ins is $68.00 to be paid at Weigh-ins.  (We only allow walk-ins if we do not sell out.)

CHANGING WEIGHT CLASSES:  You may change weight classes up until October 28th at Midnight.   If you change weight classes after the October 28th, deadline there will be a $20.00 fee.  Please make sure when you register, that you list your wrestler in the right weight class.  For example, If you register your wrestler in the 100 pound weight class, he/she cannot weigh anymore than 100.0.  If he/she weighs 100.1, he/she is overweight.  If you have any questions, please E-mail me before you register.

USA Wrestling Card: All Wrestlers MUST have a USA Wrestling Card.  You must purchase your USA Wrestling Card before the tournament.  You CANNOT purchase your USA Wrestling Card at the event.

COACHES: Only two coaches allowed per wrestler during the match. Coach must have a coaching band to be in the coaching chairs in his/her wrestlers corner.  An official will issue a warning to any coach who is out of line or who acts inappropriate. The band will then be black marked. Any further inappropriate action will cause for removal of band and coaching privileges for the remainder of the tournament.
